Ha ! Yeah, they are a bit young yet. :)

My next walk is probably about 3-4 years away. I was not married back on '09, and my new wife is anxious to share the experience with me. We plan on doing it right after we retire.

What kind of table top wargames do you play ? That has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid.

      Best -

Read you 'about me' you seem cool :) Nerds rule my man! I am one myself, among other things. Love gaming but the only violent one i like is Resident Evil.

Anyway, Wonderful you plan on doing with Sons! Yes, ironic that my decision to go coninsides with a film i didn't even know about...hum, Would prefer the trail to NOT be packed with people as i would be quite happy to not see another soul for days. I also plan on walking for 3 months. Taking my time, not rushing, taking days off here and there to recoup..so i have to leave in August in order to get back home to start filming our documentary (unrelated) in November.

Hi Anso ! Enjoyed reading your "About Me" and your desire to walk the Camino with your sons. I walked the Camino Frances with my son (he age 30, me age 55) and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. There is nothing quite like checking into an albergue and introducing each other as padre/hijo. :-) Ultreya, hermano ! ~ Alan

I'll tell you straight I'm a Camino virgin, I'm one of those awful people that saw the film and thought wow that looks like fun.

Last year for my 40th birthday/mid life crisis, I completed a 48.2 mile annual charity ITEX walk, around the island and well people were great, supportive, caring, just plain decent folk. The 4000+ people that walked with me were my family for that day. The way I look at it is, with regard to a Camino, what better way to spend your holiday than in the fellowship of pilgrims overcoming the same trails as you with ultimately the same goals as yourself.

Okay here's a few facts about myself, that you may find interesting, I had my 21 birthday in Kenya while volunteering my time for an Overseas Aid project. I'm also proud to say that I quit smoking by just pure willpower, strangely after almost 5 years I still have the occasional dream where I have a cigarette, and wake up feeling guilty. I did way too little training for the ITEX walk last year and I admit willpower not physical ability got me through the last 10 miles or so. I don't drink beer, I do like the very occasional whisky mind you. Lastly I have two sons see profile picture, who I am incredibly proud of and I fully intend the drag across Spain in 2020.

Finally my first Camino plans, I have the 3rd - 18th September off and was planning a short Camino Frances, but seriously considering Camino Portuguese starting from Porto due to the overpopulation on the French route, by Martin Sheen fans like myself.

Feel free to message me if you are considering Portuguese route in September 2011, or if you see me on the camino I will be the one with a jersey flag stitched to his rucksack, walking with sticks, (motobike accident at 17 broken tibia+fibula, my ankle still has its moments).
