      Hey Laurah !

      Cheers back at ya !

Aaron wears the Life Is Good T-shirt that says that. He never ceases to teach me ...

Shuffling through my Camino stuff ... might be able to help with some quality hand-me-downs.

      :)

Hi Laurah, I think going with the family will be a great bonding experience, and in 2020 the oldest will be 15 and that will probably be the last family trip before he will want to just holiday with his mates. I read that it's the absence of the BF that's troubling your daughter most, that's a tricky one. I could suggest that you invite him, even perhaps just to meet you both at the end, or advise your daughter that this would be a vital test of the strength of their relationship.

But the truth is at 19, 3 months is a lifetime, I think the best you can do is sit down with them both and have a open and honest talk and perhaps together you may find a solution, that rewards her with the life experience you want for you and you the freedom to walk your camino.

I notice you cite Film making as one of your interests, what's the documentary about?
      kind regards

Had not heard about it till i started doing my research, watched the trailer and checked out the website. Told my daughter about it and she wants to see it too. My interest to do the pilgrimage started like 15-20 years ago.

Haha, she doesn't like alcohol (thankfully :)...thought she might be tempted in Spain since the drinking age isn't 21 haha.

Oh yes i told her the walk will be like "days of boredom followed by days of excitement, followed by days tired achy muscles and fatigue, then the whole thing starts over again."

      Thank you!

Hi Laurah, have you seen the film "the way" with Martin Sheen, it inspired me to take on this insane walk. If your daughter is still considering, perhaps have a movie night with her and a couple of bottles of red, it just might be enough to convinve her, that walking 500 miles is fun!
8-) Nice picture by the way.
      Kind regards Anso.

I have a love/hate relationship with god & religion (esp. organized) despite many spiritual experiences and i think this yin/yang goes back several hundred years.

So i simply consider myself to be Spiritual, not religious. I have wanted to do the pilgrimage since i first heard about it 15-20 years ago but timing was never right. Now I have MS and realize I need to do it NOW while i still can (um, if i can).

I was diagnosed with MS in 2008, and despite this i plan on doing the full Camino journey. I have no choice, spiritually i know it is what i have to do. I am frighten yet excited at the prospect.

So anyone who can offer advice who views my page i am more then happy to read it :)
