Hello all! Looking for a bit of advice here. Leaving in Sept for Portugal, and want to break up the walk between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima. I have seen such great recommendations for Casa de Ferdando, but sadly, due to the travelling companies along with us, we are looking for a place with a private room.
Anyone know any places around the Lugar do Corgo area?
    Thanks in advance.

Current thought process is Estabulo Valinhas . Seems like it is well rated.
Takes forever for the planning part it seems, I just want to get on the move and all planned!

Fernanda has a private room. It will sleep 3 people in two beds and has it's own ensuite bathroom. We were offered it as we were the first to arrive.

Hey Rob - Although Fernanda only has one private room, if you could reserve it for your traveling companions and you take beds in the dorm room (8-10 beds as I remember) for the one night, I don’t think you’d regret it. As I’ve mentioned before, Fernand’s hospitality is second to none. I loved every night on the CP, but our stay with Fernanda was the highlight. When we arrived on a chilly, wet afternoon, she cooked up a batch of cod bites and served them with some hot mulled wine. Dinner was a feast including bacalhau, roasted potatoes, and salad (all you could eat) topped off with red and white Port and chocolates for dessert. Breakfast was no less filling. As there were only 5 of us staying there, we ate like kings and queens. Accomodations are very comfortable, particularly the private room we stayed in, but the hospitality is what you will remember.

Hey Belinda - As I said above, Casa da Fernanda was a real Camino treat. In case you don’t have it, here’s the phone number that I called to reserve beds: 914 589 521. As the day’s stage between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima is a long one (33.6 kms), breaking up the trip in Lugar do Corgo worked well for us. In hindsight, the only other thing that I would have done differently would have been to shorten up the stage the day before by stopping in Pedra Furada at Antonio's for the night. It was a pretty rainy morning when we left Vila do Conde. The 18.5 km in the rain to Antonio’s would have been sufficient had we not made a reservation we had to keep in Barcelos. In any case, our cafes con leche in Pedra Furada were quite tasty and charged us up enough for the final push to our accommodations in Barcelos. The extra distance that day did make for an easy walk to Fernanda’s the next morning. Bom Caminho!
