I should just leave this blank.....because I am speechless!! Everything is beautiful!
First of all, this is no walk in the park... :D That first day to Roncesvalles was beautiful! But I was exhausted. Record number of Pilgrims showed up. I heard 300! Buses took them to Zibiri. Glad that I had reservations. After 3 days in the clean mountain air my bronchitis finally cleared up and I got my energy back.
Ok, no rain.....beautiful walking everyday, bit cool in the morning. Blue skies all day today! Feel so blessed. But, I am sore today. I think that I start out too fast. I leave about 6am which I love. Usually walk most by myself, then meet up with my new pilgrim friends later. Amazing people I have met. And yes, I am really enjoying the food!!
I so appreciate my bed every night, and so grateful for things I take for granted at home. This is good for me. Many experiences already. Can´t wait to share some of them.

Brava Hindsfeet!! I have been wondering about you and how you are doing. Great to hear from you. Santo Domingo!! That is great. And you are right it is NO stroll in the park and that first day is murder. But here you are. I have two volunteer positions on the camino beginning in September and will be headed back. Please keep up the news. All best

Isn’t Santo Domingo de la Cazada a Wonderful place – I was blessed to stay there twice – Once during the Camino Frances and once when I walked Saint Adrian’s Tunnel Route – I would Love to get back there one day.
    Good Luck and Buen Camino

Most excellent Hindsfeet! Glad to hear everything is going well. You are correct that it’s no walk in the park! I’m sure that your conditioning is paying off many times over. Not only did it help you get over the Pyrenees, but it will also pay off as the fatigue factor builds over these 500 miles of day after day walking. I remember a similar 300 pilgrims leaving SJPP that late May morning when I crossed. I, too, found that having a reservation in Roncesvalles good planning. Hopefully, by now, the crowd has thinned a bit. When I was in Santo Domingo, I was lucky enough to catch a concert at the cathedral that evening. Standing right underneath the resident chickens made it all the more special. Enjoy those early mornings on the route and continue having a safe journey. Buen Camino Peregrina!

Congrats, Hindsfeet! Santo Domingo is such a treasure. Historic cathedral with the live chicken and rooster inside. Historic walls of the city still present. Nice shops and restaurants. We stayed in the parador during both of our caminos! All the best for your continued camino. Bob

Jose, took your advice and stayed at Casa Magica! I loved that place! Wonderful, fun Pilgrim meal. And yes....I booked the massage. Ok, having very sore muscles, I was thinking I needed a deep tissue massage. SO NOT what I was expecting. His hands were like angels wings. I had a massage for 75 minutes. It was absolutely AMAZING! Sheesh, that was wonderful! :D :D

Thanks Unky! It is making me go outside of my comfort zone in many ways!
:D Of course I do not have a phone or anything else with me. This albergue just happens to have a computer room. Yay!

Hi Wily, Yes, the crowd has thinned. Some went home with injuries already. AND, there is a concert in 30 minutes at the cathedral! I pretty much have the mornings on the Camino to myself. I get to sing then.......until I see someone coming. Gotta go, a couple Tapas before the concert! Thank you for all of your help Wily.

    Hi Hindsfeet

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Camino. I hope you get better weather than we did last month.

Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses and don’t forget to hydrate.

I wanted to, but couldn´t get a response from the Italian Confraternity that runs St Nicolas. I will be at Beilari in Saint Jean Pied de Port and at the Pilgrim´s office in Santiago!!
