We are looking to trek from St Jean to Logrono and then trek the last two days into Santiago. Can anyone offer the best way to travel from Logrono to Ribadiso?? One option we have found is to bus to Madrid, fly to Santiago, and then bus or taxi back to Ribadiso.. Thank you

A simpler way would be to go by local bus from Logrono to Burgos

    https://buses.costasur.com/en/bus_timetable-Logrono_Burgos-nr5.html

and then pick up an Alas Bus to Santiago de Compostela and backtrack to your chosen point to restart your Camino from there.

    https://www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/che...=&jsonAlsaPassPassenger=&jsonVoucherPassenger=

BTW – You do realise that unless you walk the last 100km into Santiago de Compostela, that you won’t qualify for your Compostela ??

    Good Luck and Buen Camino

I didn't realize that the 100K had to be only the last section.

I thought that all you had to do was a total of 100K.

Yeah, no... it is the last 100 k, or if on bicycle or horseback 200k. The church only requires 100k, anything beyond that is between you and God :) Also, be aware that in that 100k you must acquire at least two sellos (stamps) per day.

So, if we do the first week (St Jean to Logrono 160k) and then the last two days (42k), will we not

we would be doing over 200k on the Camino. Are you saying we would not qualify for our official stamp?

The requirement is that you have to walk the last 100 kilometers into Santiago, or the last 200 kilometers if you are on horseback or bicycle. If your 200 kilometers does not include the last 100 continuous kilometers into Santiago, no, you would not receive a Compostela. If you walked 75 kilometers elsewhere on the Camino, and then walked the last 125k into SdC, yes. 110 elsewhere on Camino, the final 90k into SdC, no.

Well, thank you very much for that information. I think we will have to be content with just having our passport stamped. Plus, we will get to keep all of our memories.

Yes – To Qualify for your Compostela, you MUST walk the last 100km (Or cycle / go by burro the last 200km) into Santiago de Compostela – I had heard of this rule when I walked my Camino Primitivo

    https://web.archive.org/web/20151120125413/http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/50192/c2/

But as I had already walked the Camino Frances, I had No Wish to re-join all the crowds at Melide so we caught a bus from there back to Santiago de Compostela – I still went to the Compostela Office and got my completion stamp on my Credentials, but as I hadn’t walked the last 100km into Santiago de Compostela, I wasn’t presented with my Compostela.

But at least, now that you know the facts, you can either adjust your Camino to include walking the last 100km, or be aware that you don’t qualify for your Compostela,

    Good Luck and Buen Camino
