Hi everyone, my partner and I will be starting our camino in 4 days and we need to know where we can get our pilgrim passports from in Pamplona. (We decided to start here because the photos of the snow on the Pyrenees looked a little formidable!!) Does anyone have any suggestions? Cheers :)

    Good info posted by danvo

Pilgrims Credentials are available from the Municipal Albergue in Pamplona – This can be confirmed on my “Tip” of where to buy Credentials at http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/50192/b2/

Details of where to find the Municipal Albergue in Pamplona as well as the most up to date accommodation list that I am aware of for The Camino Frances can be found at http://caminoteca.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/List-of-Albergues-2016.pdf

You might want to print this off and take it with you.

    Good Luck and Buen Camino

Hey Liane - Four days until your Camino! You must be very excited! You've made an excellent decision to start in Pamplona this time of year. You're correct about the snow coming across the Pyrenees even using the Valcarlos Route. As Danvo and Rob said, pick up your credencial at the albergue municipal in Pamplona. If you can, give yourself a day to rest upon reaching Pamplona before starting out. I know you'll enjoy Navarra and the rest of The Way. Be safe and Buen Camino!

Thanks so much Wily for you help and advice! Yes, we're getting very excited now, we're heading to Pamplona tomorrow from Cadaques and we'll spend a couple of days there. Can anyone recommend a good weather site? I will be good to be able to keep an eye on the weather and be better prepared for the journey. Thanks again :)

Hi Liana - Although there are probably European specific websites for weather, I have found the The Weather Channel gives enough detailed information for any place along the Camino. It's going to be 53 degrees F and mostly sunny in Pamplona tomorrow. Enjoy and Buen Camino!

    Hey
Hey Liane - As you're spending a couple days in Pamplona, let me tell you how great the good is there. Here's an article about some of the best places for tapas in the city. As the weather will be great, sipping a nice glass of Spanish red wine at a cafe on the Plaza de Castillo would be most enjoyable. In addition to eating well at Café Iruña, another favorite spot of mine was Café Bar Gaucho just a few steps off the square. Buen provecho!

Yes indeed CW! Café Gaucho! And some of the best tapas one can find anywhere along the Camino! Can't wait for my return trip! Plus, you walk it off the next day going up the Alto del Perdón!

I loved the fact I ate and drank quite well the entire Camino, and lost weight doing it. All part of the Camino experience. The Camino provides care for the body as well as the soul.
Wife and I are thinking the next trek will be Portugal to Santiago, I'll bet there is great wine there too!

Hey CW - I leave for Porto in just over five weeks! I'll report back to you on the food and wine we encounter on our Camino north to Santiago!

Hey Ashna - I greatly appreciate how you have checked out my Camino blog. Thanks.

I will be blogging along the Camino Portugués beginning from Porto on March 24. You can access this blog at:

    caminoportugues2017.blogspot.com

At the moment, I only have an introductory page set-up so as to get the blog started. My system is pretty straight forward - text and photos. As I don't use Facebook, it's the best way for me to share the experience with family and friends back home. Plus, it's also a great photo album for me later when I revisit my travels.

    Again, thanks for following along.

Sure always good to read & enjoy other experiences of the various Camino. My friend & I fly 8 March. We hope to start around 16 March & end in Santiago around third week if April. We will go to Porto & Madrid straight after Camino. Buen Camino to you. I will also post our travels as wifi access allows

Hey Ashna - I, too, enjoy reading about the travels others are doing.

In general, Spain is very well equipped with wifi. From albergues to cafes, you'll be able to connect every night.

    Buen Camino!

Weather info in Spain is best from www.aemet.es Put in the province and location(s) of your interest. The week's forecast is usually well attendable.
