Hi, I'm beginning my journey in Toronto, Canada (hopefully mid May); any ideas on how to get from Toronto to St. Jean?

    Hi

I am flying from San Francisco to Madrid. Then to Bayonne by train and then to Saint Jean by any way I can. Others have gone other ways.

I don't know which is best. I am planning on using Sain Jean as a semi-zero day. There will be a lot of sleep to get caught up on.

Last year we flew from Toronto to Paris and spent a night in Paris close to the Gare Montparnasse and took the train in the morning to Bayonne and from there another train and bus to STJPDP. Actually the flight prices right now are very reasonable. Enjoy your camino.

I'm flying from Montreal in late April direct to Paris on Air France. As I arrive at 5:40 am, I've decided to catch the 12:28 train from the Montparnasse station to Bayonne and then on into SJPP for an early evening arrival around 7 pm. I had thought about spending a day in Paris, but with the jetlag, I thought I might as well just sleep on the train south and try to be fresh to start walking the next day. On the SNCF (French railways) you can purchase your ticket in advance as it appears that prices to change upwards as you get closer to your travel date. Buen Camino!

My wife and I started from Canada in Sept 2015, we flew from Edmonton to London, then Easyjet from Gatwick to Biartiz, then caught local transport with another couple from Biartiz to St. Jean. There may be easier ways, but worked out great for us, no issues, no delays... and a great Camino!
    Enjoy!

Hi I have noticed recently Aer Lingus offering deals from Canada and the USA. to Dublin.
Ryanair usually offer good prices to Biarritz, Santander, Bilbao
