We left TRICASTELA heading towards SARRIA approx 18/19 Kms
There are two routes you can take when leaving TRICASTELA
At the bottom of the street you can turn left or right
We choose right it's a bit more strenuous and it's hard on your feet it's slightly less Kms
    Than if we choose left
However due to the heavy rain this route was very muddy and the rocks underfoot were slippy
There is nothing on this route until you drop down to the tiny hamlet of FONTEARCUDA
You car'nt miss what looks like a barn yard go inside there are places to sit and all the fruit
/drinks and cakes are free to pilgrims
The walk is down hill ,after this

When you see SARRIA in the distance most of the waking is on roads
We decided to stop at SARRIA for 2 main reasons
1 it's was absolutely pouring down
2 stopping in a albergue 9 euros ( just out side main city centre ,and it's quite, and spotless)
The town of SARRIA seems a canny size ,bursting with all the usual facilities
The weather the last couple of days has been harrendous
( reminds me of the west highland way in Scotland)

Have seen some of the routes you have run over " with a broken toe"
You are truly one of the Camino angles
    The reasons why?
1 you must have a heart of pure gold
2 you are one hell of a fit guy
3 to run some of the sections you have ( it's hard enough walking the sections)
4 the 2 Geordies take there hats off to you ,as a mark of respect
5 finally if you are ever in the TOON I will buy you a pint

We stayed in Sarria. There was 120 boys from a school in Madrid and they were starting their camino to Santiago. Very lively , with lots of excitement and well -behaved. The school organised the Pilgrims Mass and the church was packed. standing room only. We stayed in a small private Albergue just off the town centre .We started early it felt we were walking on the top of the world, clear blue sky with the morning mists cover the valley it was magical.

Thanks Guy's sending love to you both and sad we did not meet.

The Dr I saw said "I have an idea you will not stop" the swelling has gone down now as that's what made it hurt, I could feel every stone like a needle and only a few know how much pain there was, you know us Northerners we get on with it.

People think it was easy for me but sometime's I ran in tears as this was me v my body and my journey, I nearly broke a few times but carried on thanks to some amazing people.

I just want to say that I am no better than anyone as we all do the same tough journey, I just did it my way and I have respect for walkers that I never had
